Residential Swimming Pool Inspections

Are you considering buying a home with a pool?  While a pool can be a fun and convenient addition to your new home, it can also come with significant repair and operational expenses.

While a typical home inspection does not include pools, Insight’s certified pool inspector is an experienced pool service technician who has worked on 10,000+ pools and can let you know what you are getting into.

Are the proper safety features installed?  How are the pumps and filters operating?  Are the chemicals balanced?  Does the pool have a leak?  Is your pool water cloudy?  These issues can lead to injury, discomfort, high water & utility bills, and significant unplanned expenses.

Avoid unpleasant surprises and become aware of costly repairs before you buy.

Repairs can run from a few hundred to tens of thousands of dollars!  Learning about the existing issues before you buy the home can help you negotiate their correction or a more appropriate purchase price for the home.

Did you buy your home without inspecting the pool? It’s never too late to have an experienced inspector provide you with some insight and get you on track.

Basic Pool Inspection

A Basic pool inspection includes: checking the deck and coping, checking the equipment to ensure that it is operating as intended, and inspecting the safety equipment for the pool such as gates, fences, alarms, and pool covers.

Additional Test: Pool Chemical Analysis

A chemical analysis is a great way to tell how the pool is being taken care of, and if the pool is cloudy and you are unsure what it will take to fix it.  Some chemicals are impossible to remove from the water and over time will build up in your pool, requiring a complete draining & refill .  Our equipment is sensitive enough to tell If the pool hasn’t been drained or properly chemically treated in the last few years.  If the chemicals are not balanced properly for an extended period of time, it will start to cause extra wear and tear on the equipment by burning seals and o-rings, and ultimately burning out your equipment.

Additional Test: Pool Leak Test

It’s important to have a qualified and certified professional evaluate the systems and equipment that make up a residential pool – in-ground (IG) or above-ground (AG).  Give Insight a call today and learn about the condition of the pool you plan to buy.
